About us

Mulajore Jagadhatri Puja was established in 1955 by the hands of Late Kishorilal Ghosh, the main secretary of the Gramrakhshi Bahini (Village Defense Force), a community-driven initiative dedicated to the safety and welfare of the villagers. The Jagadhatri Puja, an annual religious festival, has since become one of the most significant cultural and spiritual events in the region, drawing devotees and visitors from all over.

Community Engagement and Cultural Legacy

Beyond religious devotion, the Mulajore Jagadhatri Puja has played a crucial role in maintaining the cultural legacy of the region. It serves as a platform for social and cultural activities, promoting local arts, crafts, and performances. The puja committee has been actively involved in charitable activities as well, supporting education, healthcare, and other community welfare programs in the region.

Today, the Mulajore Jagadhatri Puja stands as a symbol of tradition, unity, and devotion, carrying forward the legacy of its founder, Late Kishorilal Ghosh, and the spirit of the Gramrakhshi Bahini. It continues to thrive as an essential part of the cultural fabric of Shyamnagar, West Bengal.

Origins and Historical Significance

Mulajore, an ancient village known for its deep-rooted cultural traditions, was the birthplace of this revered puja. Kishorilal Ghosh, a prominent figure in the community, played an instrumental role in organizing and initiating the Jagadhatri Puja. His vision was not only to unite the people of Mulajore through devotion but also to inspire a sense of cultural pride and solidarity among the villagers. Under his leadership, the Gramrakhshi Bahini took on a dual role—preserving tradition and ensuring community security.
